Brick By Brick

"Brick by brick" this is something I saw UFC fighter Dan "The Hangman" Hooker post as he was building himself back up after a few setbacks. For me it hit, it is a simple message, yet it carries so much meaning and so much weight.

During my childhood, during my teenage years, during my military career and during my journey as an entrepreneur running this company, I have failed, I have come up short and I have had setbacks.

Failure hurts, coming up short is frustrating, and not reaching your goals when you have given your all is disappointing.

I am a person who cares deeply about the journey of life, I care deeply about growth, I care deeply about purpose, I care deeply about mission and I care deeply if I don't live up to the potential I know is inside me.

So trust me when I say I get what you're going through, I get how you're feeling and I empathise with the emotional roller coaster you're on.

What I can't accept and what I cannot empathise with is you quitting and giving up on yourself.

Everyone puts the rebuild on a pedestal, they over analyse the process and they focus on the entire journey they have to make. As the saying goes, the journey of thousand miles starts with a single step.

That right there is all you need to focus on.

You don't need to worry about mile 500 or mile 1000, you need to focus on taking the next step and then the next one and then the next one.

The rebuild is achieved brick by brick. One brick at a time you lay the foundations of your new life as you build the new version of yourself. Don't focus on the entire build, focus on the next brick that needs to be laid.

How do we eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Life isn't a straight line, it zigs and it zags, it's goes up and it comes crashing down. Don't quit, don't give up, don't give in, keep pushing, keep working on yourself and will find higher ground.

Brick by brick, build the greatest version of you.
